Diagnosis: Males of Z. costablancae can be distinguished from other species within the rubidum group by the embolus with an obliquely bent tip ( Fig. 14E View FIGURE 14 ). Females of this species can be differentiated from the closely related Z. costapratae by the height of the epigyne, which is at least 1.3 times larger ( Figs 15I View FIGURE 15 , 17C View FIGURE 17 vs. Figs 15J View FIGURE 15 , 17D View FIGURE 17 ), and by the simple broadening of the antero-median chitinous structure of the epigyne (vs. with wedge-shaped ridge in Z. costapratae ; cf. Figs 15I View FIGURE 15 , 17C View FIGURE 17 and Figs 15J View FIGURE 15 , 17D View FIGURE 17 ).
Description: For a detailed description of the habitus and male palp, refer to Bosmans (1994). Epigyne ( Fig. 17C View FIGURE 17 ): Epigynal plate sub-trapezoidal, anteriorly limited by a broadened, antero-median chitinous structure. Sides of the epigynal plate S-shaped. Epigyne with a longitudinal septum, reaching the posterior part of epigyne and accompanied by a pair of copulatory openings on antero-lateral sides of the septum; these copulatory openings connected to a pair of lateral pits by connecting grooves.
Molecular data:
COI mitochondrial barcodes (Genbank accession): MT370080 View Materials , PP373361 .
Maximum intraspecific COI divergence (n=2): 2.3 %. Minimum interspecific divergence (to Z. machadoi ): 7.1%. Consensus COI distance to the closest species (to Z. styliferum ): 3.1%.
Distribution: Spain.
