Replaced synonym:― Caesalpinia juca Glaziou (1906:158) nom. inval. ≡ Libidibia juca (Glaziou) F.G. Oliveira & L.P. Queiroz (2024: 12) nom. inval. Type:— BRAZIL, “ Espírito Santo, Serra de Itabapoana, September–October” Glaziou 9760 ( lectotype P02736930!, designated by Oliveira et al. 2024); Glaziou 10646 (remaining syntype P02736931!).

= Caesalpinia ferrea var. petiolulata Tulasne (1844: 138) . Type:— BRAZIL, Piauí (‘Piauhy’), 1839, Gardner 2147 ( lectotype K000055082!, designated by Oliveira et al. 2024, isolectotypes NY00958833!, NY00958832!, P02736427!).

= Caesalpinia ferrea var. megaphylla Tulasne (1844: 139) . Type:— BRAZIL, probably Ceará (although given as ‘Piauhy’ in the species protologue), dry woods near Villa do Crato, Jan 1839, Gardner 1934 ( lectotype P02736441!, designated by Oliveira et al. 2024,

isolectotype K000055079!).

= Caesalpinia ferrea var. cearensis Huber (1901: 304) View in CoL . Type:— BRAZIL, Ceará, RPPN Serra das Almas, Crateús, Nascimento 1315 ( neotype HUEFS 0211575!, designated by Oliveira et al. 2024).
