Heterotypic synonym:— Puccinia caricis-flabellatae Y. Harada ; P. caricis-podogynae Y. Harada Type:— Holotype in HHUF (4158). Description:—See Harada (1977a), Hiratsuka et al. (1992) and Ono et al. (2001a). Hosts and distribution in Japan:—0, I on Petasites japonicus (Sieb. & Zucc.) Maxim. (Hok, Hon); II, III on Carex dimorpholepis Steud. (Hon), C. flabellata H. Lév. & Vaniot [= C. prescottiana var. flabellata (H. Lév. & Vaniot) Ohwi ] (Hok, Hon), C. podogyna Franch. & Sav. (Hon), C. sadoensis Franch. (Hon), C. shimidzensis Franch. (Hon) ( Harada 1977a, 1986, Hiratsuka et al. 1992, Ono et al. 2001a). Notes:—Life cycle of this species was proved by Harada (1977a, 1986) and Ono et al. (2001a).
