Biomphalaria molecular xenomonitoring

A recently developed high-throughput S. mansoni - specific molecular xenomonitoring PCR assay was used to detect either patent, but non-shedding, S. mansoni infections, or prepatent S. mansoni infections within Biomphalaria [ 24]. Tis assay can also be used to detect Biomphalaria infections with other trematode species, including S. rodhaini .
