Distribution. Previously recorded from Saudi Arabia by Abu-Thuraya (1982); El-Hawagry et al. (2017). New for the fauna of UAE. It was described from Java and was further recorded from the Afrotropical Region: Cape Verde Islands, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Oman, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Yemen and Zambia: Oriental Region; Cambodia, India, Indonesia (Java), Japan (Ryukus), Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Thailand:Australasian Region; Australia ( Cogan 1980; Deeming 2006; Černý & von Tschirnhaus 2014; Černý 2023).

Host remarks. The larva of this species forms external stem mine on Centrosema pubescens Benth. in Java from where it has been described. It has been also recorded on Calopogonium mucunoidesm Desv. , Ctotalaria mucronata Aiton , Glycine Willd. , Phaseolus L., Puraria DC. and most commonly found on the genus Vigna Savi ( Benavent-Corai et al. 2005; Spencer 1990; Černý 2023).
