El-Serwy (NMWC) ; 2♂, Tell el Amama , 21.iii.2001, P.C. Bucklaud, det. P. Skidmore ( NMWC). MOROCCO: 1 ♂, Asni, 45km of Marrakesh , 1218m, 12.v.1986, A.H. Kirk-Spriggs ( NMWC): 5♂, Middle Atlas Fez. N of Fes el Bali, 8.iv.1986, swept mixed vegetation nr. stream, A.H. Kirk-Spriggs. SPAIN: 1♂, Cádiz, Barbate de Franco , 30.iii.1984, A.H. Kirk-Spriggs ( NMWC).

Distribution. Previously recorded from Saudi Arabia by Al-Ahmadi & Salem (1999). New for the fauna of Egypt, this species was described without the type locality being specified. It is widespread and common in the Palaearctic occurring throughout Europe, and in Iraq, Israel, Morocco and Tunisia. It occurs in the Oriental Region in India ( Spencer 1973a; Deeming 2006; Zlobin 2000; Kahanpää 2014; Černý et al. 2018).

Host remarks. This is a leaf-miner of Medicago L. ( Fabaceae ), Melilotus L. ( Fabaceae ) and Trifolium L. ( Fabaceae ) ( Al-Azawi 1967; Al-Ali 1977; Spencer 1981). More information on damage to alfalfa ( Medicago sativa L.) ( Fabaceae ) in Hungary is summarized by Papp (1984b).
