GAMBIA: 2♂, 1♀, Central River Division (N.) Niani District, Sokuto , 24.viii.1997, sorghum field, D.J. Mann ( NMWC). GHANA: 1♂, Legon , i.1999, M. Cobblah ( NMWC). Distribution. Previously recorded from Saudi Arabia by Deeming (2006). New for the fauna of Gambia, Ghana and Nigeria. It was described from specimens from Singapore and India and was further recorded from Afrotropical Region: Cape Verde Islands, Ethiopia, Kenya, Oman, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and Tanzania: Palaearctic Region; Israel: Oriental Region; Bangladesh, India, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand: Nearctic Region; USA: Neotropical Region; Brazil, Costa Rica, Guadeloupe, Venezuela: Australasian Region; Hawaii ( Cogan 1980; Etienne, & Martinez 2003; Boucher 2004; Deeming 2006; Černý & von Tschirnhaus 2014).
Host remarks. The host plants for this species, Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers. ( Poaceae ), Zea mays L. ( Poaceae ), Oryza sativa L. ( Poaceae ), Eragrostis pilosa (L.) Beauv. ( Poaceae ), Echinochloa crus-galli (L.) P. Beauv. var. formosensis Ohwi ( Poaceae ), Eleusine indica (L.) Gaertn. ( Poaceae ), Setaria viridis (L.) ( Poaceae ), Paspalum conjugatum P.J.Berg. ( Poaceae ), Leptochloa chinensis (L.) Nees ( Poaceae ) ( Spencer 1973a: 264–266; Liao & Shiao 2001).
