Material examined. SAUDI ARABIA: 1♂, Asir, Abha, Madenate Al-Ameer Sultan, Hey Alsad , 1–20.xi.2013, Malaise trap, H.A. Dawah ( NMWC)
Distribution. First record from Saudi Arabia. New for the fauna of Ghana. It was described from Kenya and was further recorded from Nigeria ( Černý & von Tschirnhaus 2014).
Remarks. In NMWC is a series of 67 specimens of both sexes from Tafo, Ghana, xi–xii.1988, Malaise trap, M. Coblah and a single male from Ibadan, Nigeria, 16–19.i.1966, J.C.Deeming. These specimens agree perfectly with the original species description, although the wings are heavily smokey brown tinged, rather than being hyaline (a character not mentioned in the original species description). A single male from Bauchi, Nigeria, vegetable garden, 6.iv.1990, J.C.Deeming has the same hyaline wings as does the Abha male, Saudi Arabia. Tafo and Ibadan are places in coastal forest, whereas Abha and Bauchi are in areas of much higher light penetration, and the specimens from Abha and Bauchi have entirely hyaline wings. Thus it would appear that the two forms of the same species have over time adapted to their separate environments. At our request Dr Erica McAlister examined the type in the NMH, London and found it to have hyaline wings.
Host remarks. Described from a single male found on Justicia diclipteroids , on which an immature mine was found, but no rearing was made.
