Host remarks. This species was recorded from 27 genera of Fabaceae . It attacks the commercially important M. sativa , Pisum sativum L. ( Fabaceae ) and V. faba ( Fabaceae ) and other Vicia , L. spp., so is regarded as a pest of leguminous crops ( Papp & Černý 2017). Al-Azawi (1967: 286) recorded L. congesta from leaves of alfalfa ( M. sativa ), broad bean ( V. faba ) and Lathyrus aphaca L. ( Fabaceae ) in Iraq. Lonsdale et al. (2023) reviewed the taxonomy, biology, distribution, host plants, damage caused and parasitoids attacking this species.
