Type species: Filistata testacea Latreille, 1810 (= Aranea insidiatrix Forsskål, 1775 ), by monotypy.
Notes: Until now, Filistata View in CoL included four named species in Israel: F. albens Zonstein & Marusik, 2019 View in CoL , F. betarif Magalhaes, Aharon, Ganem & Gavish-Regev, 2022 View in CoL , F. insidiatrix (Forsskål, 1775) , and F. lubinae Zonstein & Marusik, 2019 View in CoL . Magalhaes et al. (2022, fig. 4C) mentioned one undescribed Filistata species from northern Israel, thus bringing the regional spider fauna of the genus to five species in total.
