Description. Male. Body length 6.4–7.8 mm, width 2.3–2.9 mm ( holotype 7.4 and 2.7 mm).

The body vestiture is golden-green in color. The 3 rd –7 th funicular segments elongate, or only 3 rd and 4 th of them elongate and as long as wide. The 2 nd tarsal segment triangular, as long as wide, 3 rd segment of fore tarsi about 3.0 times as wide as claw segment. Scales flattened, setae semi-erect, blunted apically. Aedeagus laterally at base of lamella with distinct lateral tubercles, covered with short and thickened anteapical setae.

Female. Body length 6.9–8.2 mm, width 2.7–3.3 mm

Comparative diagnosis: This subspecies is closely related to E. dohrni dohrni , from which it differs in the structure of the aedeagus with distinct lateral tubercles at the base of the lamella covered with short and stout anteapical setae.

Biology: Following Gültekin et al. (2008, as E. persicus ), this subspecies occurs on Centaurea solstitialis L. on the campus of Atatürk University, Erzurum.

Distribution: This subspecies is widespread in Arax River basin in Naxçıvan Republic of Azerbaijan and in northeastern Turkey.

Etymology: The new subspecies is named in honor of prominent Russian weevil specialist Margarita Ervandovna Ter-Minassian; the species name is a noun in genitive, invariable.
