The subspecies is described by Kult (1951).

Additional description. Measurements. Body length 5.29–6.05 mm (ẍ = 5.73 mm *), width 1.49–1.82 mm (ẍ = 1.66 mm *), ratio L/W of pronotum 0.89–0.95 (ẍ = 0.93*), ratio L/W of elytra 1.84–1.95 (ẍ = 1.89*); (*n = 10).

The subspecies seems to be slightly larger than the nominotypical subspecies. It differs mainly in the following characters: colour piceous.

Head with neck constriction more distinctly closed by band of punctures, with slight step.

Pronotum ( Fig. 66 View FIGURES 53–67 ) with lateral margin slightly contracted anteriorly, channel wider.

Elytron ( Fig. 31 View FIGURES 27–37 ) with intervals more convex, interval seven at apex almost convex, with very short rim at apex.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 98 View FIGURES 97–104 ). Median lobe of moderate length, arcuate basally, somewhat bulgy in apical half, apex like elongated slight parable. Parameres relatively stable, moderately slender, distorted in apical quarter, with medium long seta each.

Female gonocoxites and epipleurite ( Fig. 124 View FIGURES 110–128 ). Basal gonocoxite with apex regularly acuminated, with two long setae, apical gonocoxite elongated, slightly curved, cylindrical in cross section in apical two thirds, with two medium sized and one small setae basally, with two long setae apically. Epipleurite trapezoid, with two setae.

Variation. The lateral margin of the pronotum is more or less convex. In some of the specimens including paratypes, one side is straighter whereas the other side is more convex.

Distribution. Known from the following Philippine Islands: Luzon, Marinduque, Mindanao, and Leyte.
