Remarks. Species of Ethiopian origin ( Hinton 1948), now cosmopolitan with records in 156 countries ( Campbell et al. 2022). It is one of the most important and injurious insect species that attacks stored agricultural products in mills and warehouses around the world ( Edde et al. 2012). Seidlitz (1891) is one of the oldest mentions of its presence in Romania. In Romania, it has been introduced with stored products ( Teodorescu et al. 2006).
