Materials examined. Hunedoara County: BraniȘca (near), 45.9349°N / 22.7468°E, 22. VI.2016, forest edge, Cosmin-Ovidiu Manci leg. (3 specimens), COMC GoogleMaps ; Constanța County: “Dunele Marine de la Agigea” Nature Reserve , 44.0876°N / 28.6422°E, 15.VII.2023, Alexandru-Mihai Pintilioaie leg. (1 specimen), AMPC GoogleMaps ; Constanța County; Biruința (near), 43.9930°N / 28.5257°E, 7.I.2024, in nest boxes of Corracias garrulus, Alexandru-Mihai Pintilioaie leg. (1 specimen), AMPC GoogleMaps .

Remarks. Sub-Saharan species, currently cosmopolitan ( Geden & Hogsette 1994; Lambkin 2001). Seidlitz (1891) is one of the oldest mentions of its presence in Romania. It is a pest of stored grains and in the poultry industry ( Aalbu et al. 2002). Alphitobius diaperinus is a bird nest-adapted species that feeds on scraps and detritus in the nests of a wide variety of species, including pigeons, sparrows ( Arshad et al. 1984; Bhattacharyya 1995), and bats guano in caves ( McFarlane 1971).
