Zalat et al. (1992) reported the presence of E. halophilus in Egypt ( Ismailia) for the first time. The species is entirely absent from Africa, and its distribution area includes most of northern and central Europe and Cyprus, and recently Turkey ( Hebauer 2006; Darilmaz and Kiyak 2009; Fikáček et al. 2015).
