Genus Paraplotina Miyatake
Paraplotina Miyatake, 1969: 209 .– Poorani 2002: 360. Type species: Paraplotina flavomaculata Miyatake, 1969: 209 , by original designation.
Diagnosis. This genus is related to Plotina and Buprestodera and seems to be placed between them. It can be separated from Plotina by the prosternum with more strongly produced anterior margin and without lateral striae extending and diverging anteriorly, and from Buprestodera by the terminal maxillary palpomere not strongly dilated apically, almost simple elytral punctation, and the more coarsely faceted eyes. The simple punctation of elytra and relatively slender and long antennae seem to be peculiar characters to separate this genus from the other genera of this group (from Miyatake 1969).
Distribution. South India.
