Protoplotina nigrosuturalis Poorani, 2003: 4 View Cited Treatment .
Diagnosis. Length: 2.00 mm; width: 1.32 mm. Form elongate oval, moderately convex, head and pronotum pubescent, elytra with inconspicuous, sparse, fine and erect pubescence on lateral margins and disc. Ground colour of dorsal side pale yellowish brown, elytra with a narrow black stripe starting a little before inner corners of basal margin and running along suture for nearly 3/4th of its length, not extending to apex ( Fig. 20a, b View FIGURE 20 ). Ventral side uniformly yellowish brown. Elytral punctation conspicuously dual with fine and coarse punctures intermixed on disc, apical portion with conspicuous coarse punctures. Abdominal postcoxal lines ( Fig. 20c View FIGURE 20 ) incomplete, with an associate oblique line, strongly recurved inwards. Spermatheca ( Fig. 20d View FIGURE 20 ) as illustrated, infundibulum present.
Distribution. India: Uttar Pradesh.
Biology. Collected on Solanum melongena in July (label data).
Notes. Poorani (2003) described it from a single female and it is distinctive from its other congeners.
