A single tail valve incomplete and poorly preserved from the lower Pliocene (Zanclean) of Rio S.Antonino ( Italy) (MZB 45727, width 3.2 mm ( Fig. 154J–K View FIGURE 154 ) differs from the other European fossil Callochiton species mainly by the postmucronal slope strongly concave just behind the mucro. Despite the differences with the other species studied here, the scarcity of the material available makes the correct identification impossible.
