Remarks. The available material consists of two incomplete, small, and poorly preserved intermediate valves (width 1.7 and 2 mm, Fig. 154C View FIGURE 154 ) from the Miocene (Tortonian) of Saint-Clément-de-la-Place ( France); central area sculptured by ca. 20 oblique longitudinal striae of widely spaced, roundish granules, up to 60–75 μm, with smooth interspaces, with a central megalaesthete and many (up to 10) micraesthetes along the margin. Leptochiton sp. superficially resembles Leptochiton parvus Dell’Angelo, Landau, Van Dingenen & Ceulemans, 2018, from which it differs by the tegmentum sculpture with fewer longitudinal granular striae and larger interspaces. Despite the differences with the other species examined in this study, a more in-depth taxonomic assignment is not possible because of the scarcity of the material.
