Description. Female. Body length 6.5–9.0 mm.

Structure. Flagellum with 26–29 flagellomeres, filiform; 1 st flagellomere 2.1–2.2× as long as wide, 6 th or 7 th flagellomeres square, widest flagellomeres 1.2× as wide as long. OED 0.9–1.2× ocellar diameter. MI 0.8. Hypostomal carina often slightly lamelliform ventrally. Scutellum without lateral carina. Area superomedia longer than wide. Hind femur 3.4–3.7× as long as wide. Postpetiole with latero-median carina, densely punctate. 2 nd tergite 1.3× as wide as long. Thyridium small, 0.3× as wide as interval between thyridia.

Color . Black. Flagellum black, flagellomeres 6–12/13 ivory dorsally. Palps and scutellum, sometimes (in female from Yonaguni-jima Isl.) spot of facial orbit ivory. Apical clypeus, scape ventrally and tegula sometimes ± reddish. 1 st to 3 rd tergites red, following tergites black; 6 th and 7 th tergites mainly ivory. Legs red; fore and mid coxae and trochanters with ivory spots frontally; hind femur infuscate in apical 0.2; hind tibia black, with red subbasal ring; hind tarsus black. Wings slightly infuscate; pterostigma dark brown.

Male. Body length 6.5–9.0 mm.

Structure. Flagellum with 27–30 flagellomeres, bristle-shaped, distal flagellomeres slightly nodose; 1 st flagellomere 3.1–3.4× as long as wide. Tyloids on flagellomeres 4/5–14/15, long-oval, maximally about as long as their flagellomeres. OED 0.9× ocellar diameter. MI 0.4. Hypostomal carina slightly ± lamelliform ventrally. Hind femur 3.6–4.3× as long as wide. Postpetiole densely and coarsely punctate. Gastrocoelus longer than wide, with lateral ridge. Thyridium transverse, 0.3–0.4× as wide as interval between thyridia. 2 nd tergite 1.2× as long as wide. 2 nd to 4 th tergites densely rugose-punctate, dull. Apical margin of hypopygium strongly rounded.

Color . Black. Flagellum black, basal flagellomeres often ± reddish ventrally, flagellomeres 11/14–15/16 ivory dorsally. Palps, mandible except teeth, clypeus except brown median spot or stripe, wide facial orbits, usually scape ventrally, frontal margin and hind edge of pronotum, often spot of tegula, subtegular ridge and scutellum ivory. 1 st to 3 rd tergites and sometimes 4 th tergite basally red, following tergites black; sometimes apical band of 5 th tergite, usually apical band of 6 th tergite and 7 th tergite dorsally with ivory spots. Legs reddish; fore and mid coxae and trochanters ivory; hind femur infuscate in apical 0.2–0.3; hind tibia and tarsus black. Pterostigma dark brown.

Distribution. Japan (Honshu, Amamioshima Isl., Tokunoshima Isl., Okinoerabujima Isl., Okinawajima Isl., Iejima Isl., Ishigakijima Isl., Iriomotejima Isl. and Yonagunijima Isl.). Widespread in the East Palaearctic and Oriental regions. New record for Tokunoshima Isl., Okinoerabujima Isl., Iejima Isl. and Yonagunijima Isl.
