Description. Male. Body length 13.0–14.0 mm. Length of fore wing 10.5–11.0 mm. Flagellum with 38–41 flagellomeres, bristle-shaped; 1 st flagellomere 2.9× as long as wide, distal flagellomeres slightly nodose. Tyloids on flagellomeres 5–14, linear, maximally 0.8× as long as their flagellomeres and situated basad. OED 0.8–0.9× and OOD 1.2× ocellar diameter. MI 0.4. Scutellum moderately elevated, slightly wider than long, punctate, with lateral carina in basal 0.5. Area superomedia halfmoon-shaped, wider than long. Hind femur 4.4–4.6× as long as wide. External surface of hind tibia with multiple fine spines. Postpetiole slightly widened, granulate and dull, median field not separated. Gastrocoelus weak, as long than wide. Thyridium far from tergal base, 0.2× as wide as interval between thyridia. 2 nd tergite 1.2–1.3× as long as wide. 2 nd and 3 rd tergites with fine superficial punctuation and granulation, dull.
Color . Black. Flagellum black, ± reddish ventrally. Palps, mandible except teeth, clypeus, face, gena, frontal and outer orbits, sometimes spots of propleuron and mesosternum, collar, lateral frontal margin and upper margin of pronotum, tegula, subtegular ridge, apical 2/3 of scutellum and sometimes postscutellum ivory. Tergites black, 2 nd tergite sometimes with narrow reddish apical margin. Legs black; fore and mid coxae and trochanters mainly or entirely ivory; hind coxa black, sometimes with ventral ivory stripe, fore and mid femora and tibiae yellowish or ivory frontally; fore and mid tarsi ivory; hind tibia ivory, black in apical half; hind tarsus except black metatarsus and basal half of 2 nd hind tarsomere ivory. Wings slightly infuscate, pterostigma blackish.
Remarks. We do not formally describe this species here since the taxonomy and correlation of sexes of the genus Cratichneumon in Japan need a comprehensive revision in the future.
