Material. [ Japan] Kagoshima Pref.: Yakushima Isl. , Malaise trap (Y2), 1200 m alt., 1 ♀ 7–28. VI. 2007, T. Yamauchi et al. leg . ( Kanagawa).
Description. Female. Body length 6.5 mm.
Structure. Flagellum with 21 flagellomeres, filiform; 1 st flagellomere 2.3× as long as wide, all flagellomeres longer than wide, preapical flagellomeres c 1.2× as long as wide. OED 1.1× ocellar diameter. Clypeus with large anterior tentorial pit (clypeal fovea). MI 0.8. Scutellum moderately elevated, wider than long, with sparse punctures and lateral carina in basal 0.4. Hind femur 4.0× as long as wide.
Color . Black. Flagellomeres 7–10 dorsally, palps, mandible except tooth, frontal orbit, collar, spot of subtegular ridge and scutellum laterally ivory.
Distribution. Japan ( Hokkaido and Yakushima Isl.), China, Nepal, and Taiwan. New record for the Ryukyu Archipelago.
Remarks. This specimen from Yakushima differs from the original description ( Diller & Schönitzer 1998) by the large clypeal fovea and slightly reduced ivory color pattern of mesosoma. The structure and color pattern are otherwise typical.
