"Habitat in Mexico, Vera Cruce." RCN: 1239.

Neotype (McDonald in Taxon 38: 137. 1989): Mexico. Veracruz, about 30km SE of Jalapa, occasional in valley between Apazapan and Jalcomulco, 20 Oct 1987, McDonald 2430 (BM; iso- K, MEXU, TEX, XAL).

Current name: Ipomoea jalapa (L.) Pursh View in CoL ( Convolvulaceae ).
