Typhlodromus ( Anthoseius) maspalomensis Ferragut & Pena-Estevez, 2003 View in CoL
Typhlodromus ( Anthoseius) maspalomensis Ferragut & Pena-Estevez, 2003: 158 View in CoL .
This species was described from the Canary Islands on Tamarix africana Poiret View in CoL and is only known from this original description. This is the first report of T. ( A.) maspalomensis View in CoL after its description. The specimens presently recorded have been found essentially on Tamarix View in CoL , suggesting a narrow association between this species and this plant genus.
Specimens examined: 2002, Damon Oum Er Bia River on Tamarix africana (Tamaricaceae) ( 12 females, 5 males); 2003, Spartel Cape on Tamarix sp. ( Tamaricaceae ) ( 5 females), Gorgesof Zegzel on Tamarix communis (Tamaricaceae) ( 5 females, 3 males), Mechra Bel Ksiri on Tamarix sp. ( Tamaricaceae ) ( 2 females), Vitex agnus - castus ( Lamiaceae ) ( 1 female), Road to Souk El Arba on Tamarix sp. ( Tamaricaceae ) ( 20 females, 8 males), Nerium oleander (Apocynaceae) ( 2 females), Saïdia on Tamarix communis (Tamaricaceae) ( 5 females, 3 males).
Previous records: Canary Islands.
