Laxly caespitose or shortly stoloniferous. Leaves 10-25 mm, lanceolate, obtuse, tapered to a long, sheathing petiole, hairy, especially towards the base, with long, red-brown hairs. Stem 20-35 cm, erect, leafy below, with a single flower or 2-4 in a loose corymb. Sepals deflexed in fruit. Petals 12-15 mm, bright yellow, sometimes with red spots, and with two prominent callosities near the base. 2/2 = 32. Bogs and other wet places. N., E. & C.
