Shoots suberect, forming fairly dense cushions; leaves scarcely coriaceous, somewhat hairy, cuneate to semicircular in outline, divided palmately into 5-11 segments. Flowers in a fairly compact, corymbose cyme; sepals linear-oblong, much longer than the hypanthium; petals 11-1 4x3-5 mm, white. Siliceous rocks, usually shaded. • S. Very variable, and composed o f four geographically isolated populations.
