(a) Subsp. arachnoideum View in CoL ( subsp. doellianum (C. B. Lehm.) Schinz & Keller ): Rosettes not more than 1-5 cm in diameter, ovoid or globose; arachnoid hairs variable in quantity, sometimes rather scanty. 2/7 = 32. Mainly in the eastern part o f the range.
