Annual 15-60 cm, with medifixed and 3- to 4-fid hairs. Leaves dentate to laciniate, suborbicular to ovate, the basal cordate but soon dead. Inflorescence bracteate in the lower part; pedicels 5-10 mm in fruit. Sepals (4-)6-10 mm with mainly 3- to 4-fid hairs; petals (7—)11-25 mm; stigma 1-2-5 mm. Mountains o f C. & N. Greece, S. Albania, Srbija and W. Bulgaria. Al Bu G r Ju. Much confused with 9 and not always clearly separable from it in N.W. Greece and S. Albania.
