Annual or biennial up to 100 cm. Cauline leaves with linear or oblong lobes. Pedicels 5-50 mm in fruit. Sepals 2-2-5 mm; stamens usually exceeding the sepals. Siliqua 8-45 x 0- 5-0-75 mm, usually erecto-patent, torulose; valves reticulate-veined. Seeds 0-8- 1 mm. In = 28. Throughout Europe northwards to c. 70° N. All except Al Az Cr Fa Sa Sb.
