Leaf-bases forming a compact tunic. Leaves asymmetrically 1- to 2-pinnate with 2-4 pairs of ovate to ovate-lanceolate, obtuse segments 1-6 mm wide. Pedicel 8-20 cm, appressed-hispid. Petals 20-25 mm, usually goldenyellow, rarely red or white. Capsule c. 14 mm, oblong-ellipsoidal. Stigmatic disc usually flat, rarely pyramidal; rays 5-7, decurrent for about f of the length of the ovary. 2zz= 14. • E. Pyrenees, S. W. & E. Alps. Au G a He Hs It Ju.
