Like 1 but petals deep yellow; ovary tuberculate at apex; capsule not more than 10 cm, slightly constricted between the seeds. Dry, stony places and sea-shores. Balkan peninsula, Aegean region, E. Romania. BuCrGrJuRm.

There has been much confusion between this species and variants of 1, and many of the records of 2 from Europe are incorrect.
