Caespitose, perennial herbs with entire or 1-3 times ternatisect or pinnatisect leaves. Flowers white, yellow or pale pink, in short corymb-like racemes with long, slender pedicels. Upper petal spurred or gibbous. Fruit ovate, compressed, indéhiscent, usually 2-seeded; valves 3-veined.

All species are chasmophytes growing in rock-crevices, on walls, etc.
