Aconitum paniculatum
status

9. A. paniculatum Lam. View in CoL , Fl. Fr. 3:646 (1778).

Inflorescence more or less glandular-hairy; bracts linear; helmet scarcely higher than wide. 2«=16. • Mountains o f C. Europe, extending to C. Italy and Romania. Au?Bu?Cz G a Ge He Hs It Ju?Po Rm Rs (W).

A. angustifolium Bernh. in Reichenb., Monogr. Aeon. 95 (1820), from Jugoslavia has seeds resembling those of 7 but differing in their brown colour and in the structure of the wings on the 3 sides. The deeply divided leaves resemble those of 13, but are distinctive. These characters and the completely glabrous branches of the inflorescences suggest that A. angustifolium merits specific rank.

A. burnatii Gayer , Magyar Bot. Lapok 8: 141 (1909) from S.E. France (Alpes Maritimes) and A. zahlbruckneri Gayer , op. cit. 184 (1909), from the E. Alps, are possibly of hybrid origin (9 x 13).
