Robust; stock not or scarcely swollen and corm-like, usually with abundant fibres; roots thick, fleshy, fusiform or cylindrical. Middle segments of basal leaves stipitate. Pedicel sulcate near the top, striate below. Receptacle elongate-conical. Achenes smooth. S. Europe.
