Pubescent perennial. Outer basal leaves 3-lobed and dentate; inner 3-sect; segments stipitate, pinnatisect. Flowers 30-50 mm in diameter; honey-leaves white, yellow, red or purple. Head of achenes c. 10 mm. Achenes ovate, attenuate into a wide hooked beak. Kriti, Karpathos. Cr. (S. W. Asia.) Frequently cultivated.
