Stock short, thick, dark brown. Petioles and peduncles 5-15 cm. Leaves often purplish beneath, cordate at base, 3-lobed; lobes ovate, sericeous when young and sometimes persistently villous beneath. Flowers 15-25 mm in diameter, bluish-violet, purple, white or pinkish. Bracts ovate, entire. Perianth of 6-7(-10) narrow, ovate segments. 2«= 14.
