Like 1 but stems more branched and leaf-lobes broader and dentate; sepals | as long as petals; petals more numerous, narrowly lanceolate; achenes pubescent only at base. U.S.S. R. southwards from c. 54° N., extending locally westwards to S.E. Hungary. Hu Rm Rs (C, W, K, E).
A. vernalis* volgensis (A. x hybrida H. Wolff ) occurs with the parents.
