Achenes with a transverse, entire or subdentate keel on the back near the base. S. Europe. A. baetica Cosson , Not. Pl. Crit. 25 (1849) is of uncertain status but may perhaps be another subspecies of 7. It has rather larger achenes (5-6 mm), the outer margins of which have a prominent tooth, and the plant is more robust. It occurs in S. Portugal and S. Spain.
