Plant more or less caespitose, glaucous, glabrous; stems 30-100 cm, ascending or erect, branched. Leaves 10-50 mm, semiterete, 1mm thick. Flowers in shortly pedunculate, dense, capitate clusters c. 1 cm in diameter, forming a diffuse, pyramidal panicle; bracts ovate to obovate, obtuse, ciliate; pedicels very short, sometimes glandular-pubescent. Calyx 2-3-5 mm; teeth lanceolate, acute or obtuse, ciliate. Seeds with long, acute, conical tubercles. Gypsaceous soils. • C. & S.E. Spain. Hs.
