Stems 5-25 cm, pubescent, sometimes glandular-hairy. Leaves 5-10 x 1-5-2 mm, linear-elliptic, puberulent. Flowers usually in dense heads; pedicels usually shorter than calyx. Calyx 5-6 mm, puberulent, with long patent hairs on the ribs. Petals with a transverse purple stripe (sometimes entirely white, var. thymifolia (Sibth. & Sm.) Barkoudah ). • Greece, Kikhlades, S.
