Caespitose, with woody stock; stems 10-25 cm, slender. Leaves 1-3 x 0-3-1 cm, ovate to ovate-lanceolate, acute or subobtuse, apiculate, often thick. Inflorescence 1- to 3-flowered (plants from Italy with the leaves 2-3 cm sometimes have 3- to 5-flowered inflorescences); bracts more or less herbaceous. Ripe capsule 7-9 mm, with wide neck and patent or deflexed teeth; carpophore c. 2 mm. 2/7 = 24. Usually on mountains.? • Alps and S. Europe.
