Flowers in small heads; bracts absent or (in subsp. toletanus ) as long as flowers. Epicalyx-scales usually 6, ovate, acuminate, from half as long as to as long as calyx. Calyx 17-22 mm, tapering above the middle. Petal-limb 5-8 mm, dentate, bearded. • 5. W. Europe.
