Often laxly caespitose, 5-50 cm, with leafy basal shoots, pubescent to glabrescent, with or without glandular hairs. Leaves usually 10-25 x 3-10 mm. Sepals 3-5 mm; petals shorter to slightly longer than sepals. Capsule up to 12m m; placenta 1-4 mm. Seeds 0-4-0-8 mm, with tubercles as wide as high. 2/7 = 144 (134-52). Widespread.
