1. N. erinaceum (Pallas) Bunge , Mém. Acad. Sci. Pétersb. (Sci. Phys. Math.) ser. 7, 4 (11): 51 (1862).

5-15 cm, pulvinate, with procumbenttortuous woody stems. Leaves 3-7 mm, semiamplexicaul, spine-tipped. Perianth-segments up to 10 mm in fruit, pale yellowish-green, shining. Achenes c. 3 mm. Dry saline places. S.E. Russia. Rs (E). (W. & C. Asia.)
