Stems 10-30 cm, persistent, branched, woody below; upper segments up to 8 x 2 mm. Leaves 1 -2 mm. Five perianthsegments winged; wings up to 4 x 7 mm, reniform-orbicular; staminodes villose. Saline soils. S. Spain (near Almeria). Hs. (N. Africa, W. Asia.)
