Leaves narrowly linear, up to 10 times as long as wide, the cauline rarely more than 2 mm wide; margin often deflexed; basal lobes narrow, diverging at right angles or directed somewhat distally. Flowering stems ascending, or procumbent with erect branches, branched from below the middle. Valves separating from the nut. Nut 0-9- 1 - 3 mm, longer than wide. 2« = 28. N. & E. Europe.
