Tree. Leaves 5-12 cm, ovate, acuminate. Syncarp 10-14 cm in diameter, subglobose, orange. Cultivated as a hedge plant and for ornament, and locally naturalized in S. Europe. [It Rm Rs (K).] (North America.)
