A diffuse or ascending annual or perennial up to 50 cm. Leaves up to 1 cm, ovate or elliptical. Bracteoles of each cyme becoming brown and connate, forming a 5-lobed involucre around the fruit. Achenes brown. Greece and Aegean region; also on small islands off Sicilia. Cr Gr Si.
