Shrub or tree. Leaves 4-7 cm, sinuatedentate or shallowly lobed, persistently tomentose beneath. Scales of involucre unequal; lower scales short, thickened and more or less fused, upper longer, free, cuspidate. • Pyrenees; N. E. Spain.

Q. cerrioides Willk. & Costa , Linnaea 30: 123 (1859), from E. Spain, with toothed ovate leaves usually more than 6 cm, is probably derived from 23 by hybridization with 25.
