Leaves 5 -25 cm; petiole as long as lamina, red-brown at base, soon becoming straw-coloured or greenish; lamina lanceolate to narrowly elliptic, thin, light green, 2-pinnate, the lower pinnae decreasing in length towards base of leaf; rhachis with occasional glandular hairs; pinnae 0- 51 - 5 cm, with 3-8 pairs of pinnules, terminal segment | as long as pinna or less; pinnules pinnatifid with mucronate lobes. Sori lying near the midrib. 2/7 = 72. Calcareous rocks. S. & C. Europe.?Au BI Co CrCzGa Ge GrHe Hs Hu It.

A. majoricum Litard. , Bull. Géogr. Bot. (Le Mans) 28 (1911), from Islas Baléares, may be related to either 7 or 9. It is similar to 9 but has leaves up to 8 cm; petiole c. 1 cm, purplish-black; lamina pinnate to pinnatisect, with scattered glands; 2/i= 144.
